Who We Are

Logo Transparent (2)Founded in 2010, the Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation is registered as a charity with the Registrar of Societies in Kenya.

We are not affiliated with any religious or political entity or institution.

We have a presence in both the United States and Nairobi, Kenya. In the United States, our foundation is a sponsored project of Lift Up Africa, a registered USA-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In Kenya, we are officially registered as a non-profit organization.

The Foundation was officially launched at the “Celebration of the Life of Nancy Crooks” service held at Nancy and Howard’s home in Nairobi, Kenya on March 13, 2010 (see video in the sidebar).

Violet Mbala, Administrator

Violet is a Kenyan professional with over 10 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry and non-governmental organizations. She has a strong experience in business development and customer service relations in Kenya and the Middle East.

Her skills are in customer service relations, business development and public relations management. Previously she served as a Guest Relations Officer in Emirates International Restaurants in Dubai,UAE, Receptionist/Reservations Clerk in Panari Hotel Kenya, Private Consultant in International Medical Corps and a Liason Officer at GIZ Kenya.

Violet is a graduate in Business and Administration Management at Kenya Institute of Management , a Diploma holder of Hotel Management from Utalii Hotel and a certificate in Information Technology from Strathmore University.
